T'WAS THE NIGHT!
Every Christmas morning, Clara, Fritzi, and Franny eagerly gather around their mother to hear the cherished tradition of The Night Before Christmas. It's their favorite part of the holiday, full of magic and memories. But this year, disaster strikes—the book goes missing during the family’s move to their new house. Devastated, the children fear Christmas will be ruined without it.
Determined to salvage the holiday, their mother heads into the busy shopping square, hoping to find a replacement copy. Unfortunately, every store is sold out. Just as she’s about to give up, a mysterious old woman appears and offers her a pristine, vintage edition of The Night Before Christmas—for free. Surprised but grateful, Mom accepts the book and hurries home. As she leaves, the old woman calls out, “Be careful,” but Mom, caught up in the excitement, doesn’t hear the warning and rushes home.
Back at home, Mom wraps the book and places it under the tree. To ease the children’s disappointment, she lets them open it early on Christmas Eve, saying, “We’ll read it tomorrow, on Christmas morning just as we’ve always done.” But after the family Christmas Eve party, when everyone is heading to bed, Clara, Fritzi, and Franny can’t resist—excitedly they sneak the book into their bedroom and begin reading aloud while they’re supposed to be asleep.
To their amazement, the words of the book come to life. Reindeer, elves, gingerbread cookies, and mischievous mice leap from the pages, filling their room with magical chaos. The mice steal Sugar Plum’s wand and hide it from the Mouse Queen, but that’s just the beginning—gingerbread cookies come to life, dancing around the room, and snowflakes swirl through the air. Characters like the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, and even a few elves begin causing playful trouble, all while the children watch in bewilderment.
Meanwhile, the family, still awake from the Christmas Eve party, begins heading to bed. Uncle Drosselmeyer, aunts, and cousins hear the commotion and dismiss it as the children’s imagination running wild. But when they enter the room, they too are swept up in the magic. Even the adults can’t deny the enchantment.
Amid the pandemonium, a piece of paper falls from the book, fluttering through the air like a leaf. The words on it read: “The true magic of Christmas is not in the traditions or the stories, but in the love we hold for one another.” The family suddenly understands: Christmas isn’t about perfect rituals, the book, or the magic—it’s about the love and togetherness they share.
As the page keepers—the guardians of the book—arrive, they gently guide the characters back into the pages. The elves, reindeer, mice, and other creatures reluctantly return to the book, leaving the room peaceful just in time for Christmas morning.
On Christmas morning, the family gathers around the tree, realizing that the real magic of Christmas is not found in a book, the traditions, or the magic—it’s in the love, laughter, and togetherness that they share.
